The next round will take place on Sunday, May 23, at Dolphin Park, 21205 Water Street, Carson, CA 90745. Registration starts at 12:30pm, and the competition starts at 1:00pm.

Arrive to Sectional site early for registration
All participants must provide a copy of a valid birth certificate or baptismal record for age verification
Parent or guardian must sign a registration/waiver form
All participants will compete in all three elements of the competition with all scores starting at zero
As a reminder, all girls will use a softball and follow the girls softball division guidelines, and all boys will use a baseball and follow the boys baseball division guidelines

In three of the last four years (2006, 2007, 2008, 2009), kids from Los Amigos have advanced through three rounds of the PH&R Contest (District, Section, Team Championship). If you win at the Team Championship round (held at the 30 MLB ballparks), you go to the MLB Allstar game held each year in July. It's only a matter of time before one of our boys or girls makes it all the way!
On May 11, 2009, Nicholas Cardiel was the "Overall Winner" of the Pony Division (13 & 14 year-old) Sectionals at Dolphin Park in Carson. Nick advanced to the Dodger Stadium (Team Championship) on June 6, 2009, where he did a great job representing SMPB. Congrats, Big Nick!

Dear Santa Monica Pony Families,
Turn out for the 2nd Annual MLB/ Pepsi Pitch, Hit, & Run Contest was very good despite lower overall SMPB registrants! Just like last year, we had 53 participants in three age groups, and we still have one more age group to go. Thank you to everyone who came out. The 13 and 14 year olds will be conducting their event on Monday, May 14th.
Please note that the All-Around Runner-Up #2, and the All-Around Runner Up #3 do not advance but their achievement is to be listed because they will receive place ribbons.
Indeed, everyone listed will receive place ribbons in the days ahead. If you are advancing, you will receive a separate notice with all the information you need. Just so you can clear that calendar, Sectionals will be held in Carson, on Sunday May 27th. I do not have the park name or time just yet. We are very proud to report that two of our Los Amigos boys, 10-year-old
Jager Metz (above left) and 8-year-old Noah Barba (above right) won their
respective age divisions at Sectionals held at Carson's Carriage Crest Park
on May 27. They then advanced to the Team Championship round held at Angel
Stadium in Anaheim on June 10 where they played on the big league field,
visited the Angel Clubhouse, and exchanged high-fives with Vladimir
Guerrero!!
